Major Technology Support Links

Apple Computer. Apple's support pages have won numerous awards for clarity of information and depth. We love mac's (and ipods, and isights, and ilife, and iworks)

Microsoft. Need we say more.

Microsoft Update. If you're on Windows, you need to make friends with this page. You also can only the updates if you're using Internet Explorer. Firefox and Netscape won't do.

Hewlett Packard. The standard in printing for almost 30 years, plus they make great computers and servers. Did you know you can get a color laser for less than $300 now?

Canon. Epson has to watch out, the color on these babies is phenomenal-plus the low-end scanners are outstanding bargains

LexMark. Great printers for PCs

IBM. Okay, so the new name is Lenovo, but you get to it through the IBM link. If you're going to get Windows, then get it on a computer that's worth it. IBM isn't good for our repair business, because the quality is so high. IBM and Apple are our favorite hardware companies. Sure, you pay more up front, but the customer service beats all the others hands down in our experience.

Favorite Technologies

Apple's New Intel Computers and Mac OS X . If want a computer that is for all intents and purposes immune to viruses, trojan horses, spyware, adware, and a plethora of other nasties that plague all Microsoft Windows platforms, then you'll love Macs. Compatibility with Microsoft Office and Exchange is not a problem anymore, and if you absolutely have to run Microsoft Windows based software, you can get Parallels for Mac and run any Windows or Linux OS in a separate window!.

Apple's iPod + iTunes . Need we say more? Anybody bought the Zune? Can you tell me why www.zune.com can't be found on the internet?

ProVUE Development. Makes a top-flight database called Panorama. It's actually much more than a database, it's a Rapid Application Development Environment (RADE) that allows you to create programs totally customized to your business

PocketMac. If have a Blackberry or PocketPC and want to sync it with your mac, this is the place. Has a lot of other cool stuff too.

Research In Motion. The Blackberry is definitely the best bang for the buck when it comes to being available. We recommend the 7520—it's military specification and GPS enabled. Of course, we are waiting for the Apple iPhone and see how that works out. This first version will not have GPS, though Apple Tech News has verifited that the second generation due in 2008 will have GPS. To our knowledge there will be no hands-free voice command capabilities (like current offerings from Sprint) that most of the new Blackberrys have.

Save the Internet

did you know that "...the nation's largest telephone and cable companies — including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner — want to be Internet gatekeepers, deciding which Web sites go fast or slow and which won't load at all. These companies have a new vision for the Internet. Instead of an even playing field, they want to reserve express lanes for their own content and services — or those from big corporations that can afford the steep tolls ..."
