• Rewired Purchase office from LocalTalk/CAT3 to CAT5. Setup automated 100GB DLT Tape Backup Server. Standardized application packages for Windows and Macintosh. Setup Internet Access, AppleShareIP and WindowsNT Servers.

• Set standards for Cross Platform Typography and Publishing using QuarkXPress and Adobe Acrobat and the Web.

• Setup Networks and Remote Access for 1 Satellite Office in Groton, CT and 3 Satellite Offices in New York City.

• Developed and grew a new line of business using Computer Based Training Technologies employing Acrobat, Web and other courseware packages. Presented to A.C.Neilsen, Phizer and Citibank.

A prize-winning advertising and design agency, Frankfurt Balkind concentrated on the convergence of technology and media and their effect on corporate cultures.

Duties included Chief Technologist, Purchasing Agent, Trainer, Contract Negotiator, Installer, Technician, Telecommunications Engineer, R&D, Software Designer and Troubleshooter for the New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles Offices. The company was dissolved in 2003.

Technology Achievements

• Grew department from one person supporting 25 users on one platform to 5 people supporting 70 user on 4 different platforms. Used Linux to integrate all communications services between AppleShare, Linux and WindowsNT. Installed AIX multi-user system in the Accounting Department

• Setup dedicated site-to-site network between New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles Offices. Created technology infrastructure in all three offices.

• Specified and setup real time digital video studio in New York office using 10x10 switcher incorporating VHS, Beta, DAT, Audio Mixer, and 3/4”, using Adobe Premiere and QuickTime VR. Specified and setup digital film trailer editing studio on Los Angeles office using AVID software.

Business Achievements

• Initiated new lines of business and products: Interactive Sales Presentations; Interactive Kiosks; Interactive Quicktime VR sales presentations. Web Site Design and programming; QuickTimeVR.

• Technical Translator for Designers, Account Managers, and New Business. This enabled FBP to get and execute sizeable jobs from technology companies such as Adobe, Seagate, Novell, Microsoft, Apple, Toshiba, Sony, and LG.

• Technology Facilitator for all “new media” jobs and accounts, enabling projects with “moving target demands” to be brought in on-time and within or below budgets—ensuring client satisfaction.
